Duran Duran's Simon Le Bon launches 1500km bike ride from London to Monaco

Pop legend Simon Le Bon kicked off the Blue Marine Foundation's London to Monaco Bike Ride - blowing the starting horn for more than 50 cyclists at the Tower of London this morning.

The riders aim to raise half a million pounds for the UK-based marine conservation charity. The money raised will help the Blue Marine Foundation continue its work of protecting the world's oceans.

After riding across Tower Bridge this morning, the riders will complete the 1500km cycle ride over ten days. After crossing three countries, they will arrive in Monaco on 27 September where they will be given a royal welcome by HSH Prince Albert II of Monaco.
